First, let me say that I am obsessed with this series and loved books 1&2, and have read them repeatedly. This may have been the best storyline out of all 3 books, and the hero was awesome as well. One thing I did not like was the lack of dialogue between the characters. There was too much internal dialogue, and not enough of them working together.Also, I just couldn’t connect with this heroine even though I like the previous two. This is the 3rd book that the heroine had been “pale, small, fragile, waifish.” I get the lack of food, but I mean were no women of color taken to this dystopian world? Not one Indian, Black, or Asian lady??!! Just nothing but pale women. I honestly would like to see another type of heroine in the 4th book. This is my favorite series, and that's now my favorite book of the Dakkar universe!I was hooked from the very first book. Captive if the Horde King had been my favorite, until now. I loved seeing Arokan again, albeit briefly. I would love him and Luna to get another book (hint, hint). That's when you know that you read a really good story, when the characters stay with you, long after you've read the last word. I keep on wondering how they're doing.I can already tell this book will be the same, for me. I've read in one sitting it as soon as it hit my kindle, and I know I'll read it again tomorrow after I've slept on it.I love all the layers of the characters, I love how they are both strong and fragile, with hidden flaws, scars, and vulnerabilities that make us root for them, cry for them.She is stronger than she thinks. He is kinder than he knows. She will heal his soul, he will give her wary heart sanctuary. They are both capable of so much more than they give themselves credit for!And the chemistry between these two... Wow. HAWT omigod moments, like Zoe knows how to make them. But unlike with so many authors of the genre, the steamy scenes feel genuine and organic, and I think that's why it's so hot! It doesn't feel like it's been just inserted there for no reason. Which means as a reader, you're taken for the ride... And what a nice ride, it was! ;)Dakkari is an invisible, yet very tangible presence in this book. Much more than the glimpse of Her will we saw in the former build. I love that about this series.I also love how their gifts allowed them to make eachother stronger. It was fascinating. I can't say more about it, or I will ruin the fun for others.Great plot, amazing character development. I dont want to ruin it for those who didn't read it yet. Let's just say that there are a lot of twists and that the denouement of the story doesn't happen the way I expected it to, eventhough I knew Zoe would give me a HEA ending.Zoe can't write these Dakkar stories fast enough!
