The book was the second DNF of her's for me. This book needed a MM warning label. While I find absolutely nothing wrong with being gay I also have ZERO desire to read about it or fantasize about it. Complete turn off for me. This was a difficult book to finish from chapter one. Maybe Jessa Kane has watched too many tv shows where women wear body hugging outfits to prison visits but I can tell you from first hand knowledge that you can not go visit a male prison wearing form fitting clothing. To read that Wendy was wearing heels, a tight skirt and a silk blouse to visit her father was a warning to me that this story was going to be truly unbelievable. Also, there’s no way that a regular person like Wendy would ever be allowed back into the holding cell, ever. I could have gone along and forgiven this bit of an overreach had the author dedicated more to the plot than some tepid love scenes. Why not include how the guys were able to escape prison? It would have added some much needed plot to this story. The big confrontation between Wendy and her father was so anti climactic, why couldn’t she of had a moment of true strength here and not just become an arsonist? That would have also added to the plot. The one plus side is that this was not a daddy/lg book because the last few have been and I find them off putting . However, the author did manage to throw in an awkward line reminiscent of something that would be in her daddy/lg books and it was cringe. I didn’t believe the yearning betWeen the two male characters for each other, it just seemed like something the author wanted to throw in and didn’t do these guys justice given their years of bonding through shared trauma. Wendy came off as such a bland character, there was nothing captivating about her and truly the only reason these guys found her irresistible was because she was the first woman they saw in a very long period of time not because she was special.
