Georgina and Catherine were a joy to read. The story about women in their mid 40s and late 50s was refreshing. The writing was descriptive, allowing me to see Bristol through the character's eyes. The secondary characters were strong support for the main characters. As the year passed quickly for Catherine and Georgina, so it passed quickly for me; no getting bogged down in insignificant details. It was a good story that affirmed that love comes at any age. Catherine and Georgina are not expecting each other when they meet at the reading of Georgina’s business, and sometimes bed partner’s will. Both are tired of giving more in relationships only to be left empty and alone. Both try to resist the feelings that creep up on them when their eyes meet. Both have brutally honest friends who refuse to give up on them. Add in a 12 month contract to see who will own the coffee shop when the contract is up and you have a wonderful story about friendship and love.
